Wang Bo
Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Peking University Committee, Vice President, and Provost of Peking University
Wang Bo a male of Han ethnicity was born in January 1967 and is a CPC member. He holds a graduate degree and a PhD in Philosophy and is recognized as a Changjiang Distinguished Professor by the Ministry of Education.
He serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Peking University Committee and holds the position of Vice President and Provost of Peking University. His duties encompass managing undergraduate and graduate education admissions international affairs athletics alumni relations the university foundation and basic education programs. Additionally he helps with the university's publicity efforts. He is in charge of the Office of the Provost; Peking University Undergraduate Education; the Admissions Office; the Graduate School; the Center for Excellent Teaching and Learning; the Office of International Relations; the Office of Hong Kong Macao and Taiwan Affairs; the Office for the International Promotion of the Chinese Language; the Alumni Affairs Office; the Alumni Association; the Education Foundation; Yuanpei College; Yenching Academy; the Department of PE; the Institute of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; the School of Marxism; as well as the Affiliated High School of Peking University; Peking University Elementary School; and Peking University Affiliated Preschool. He also assists with the management of the Peking University Office of Publicity (News & Media Center) and acts as the liaison person for the Faculty of Humanities.
Previously he held positions such as the Dean of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Executive Deputy Director (part-time) of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of Peking University Associate Dean of Yenching Academy Director of the Faculty of Social Sciences Head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Peking University Committee and Assistant President of Peking University.
He served on the 8th Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and was the convener of its Philosophy Panel. He also held the position of Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education's Steering Committee for Philosophy Teaching in Higher Education Institutions and was a Steering Committee Member of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies.
